Our Services

How We Work With You

Multiple options to suit your situation – whether you need immediate payment, maximum return, or simply want to upgrade.

01

Direct Purchase

We buy your jewelry outright for immediate payment. This is the fastest option and ideal when you want a clean, simple transaction with no waiting period.

02

Consignment

We showcase and sell your piece on your behalf through our boutique and client network. Consignment typically yields a higher return than a direct sale, though it requires more time.

03

Trade-In

Apply the value of your existing jewelry toward a new purchase or bespoke commission from Famille. Trade-ins often receive a more favorable valuation than a straight sale.

04

Estate Collection Purchase

Settling an estate that includes fine jewelry? We evaluate and purchase entire collections, providing a single fair offer that simplifies the process for executors and families.

What We Purchase

Diamonds, Estate Jewelry & More

We purchase a wide range of fine jewelry, from modern designer pieces to vintage and antique collections. Our team evaluates everything on its own merit – brand, provenance, craftsmanship, materials, and current market demand all factor into our offer.

If your piece is not something we can offer a competitive price on, we will tell you honestly and, where possible, suggest alternatives that may serve you better.

Pieces from recognized luxury houses and designer brands. Original packaging and documentation can increase the value we are able to offer.
Gold, Platinum & Silver
Precious metal jewelry valued based on current spot prices, weight, purity, and the additional worth of craftsmanship or design where applicable.

Your Jewelry Deserves a Fair Offer

Pawn shops and online buyers often undervalue fine jewelry. A qualified gemologist with access to current market data will always give you a more accurate and fair assessment.

Common Questions

Buying & Selling FAQs

How much will I get for my jewelry?
+

The value depends on the quality of the stones, metal content, brand, condition, and current market demand. What we can tell you is that our offers are based on the same professional evaluation standards we use for our certified appraisals – not arbitrary percentages. Bring your piece in for a complimentary evaluation and we will walk you through exactly how we arrive at our figure.

Why is the selling price different from my insurance appraisal?
+

Insurance appraisals reflect the retail replacement cost – what it would cost to buy a comparable new piece from a retail jeweler. When selling, the relevant value is the secondary market or wholesale price, which is always lower than retail replacement. This is true across the entire industry and is not unique to Famille. We are happy to explain the difference in detail during your consultation.

Do I need paperwork or a certificate to sell?
+

No. While GIA certificates, original receipts, and appraisal documents can help and may increase our offer, they are not required. We evaluate every piece on its own merits using our own gemological instruments and expertise. If your diamond is uncertified, we will grade it ourselves and explain our assessment transparently.

How does consignment work?
+

We display your piece in our boutique and market it through our client network. When it sells, you receive the agreed-upon amount minus a pre-determined commission. Consignment typically yields a higher net return than a direct sale because we are selling at a retail or near-retail price. Terms, timeline, and commission are all agreed upon in writing before your piece enters our showcase.

Can I sell jewelry that was not purchased at Famille?
+

Absolutely. We buy fine jewelry from all sources – other jewelers, online retailers, estate sales, or family inheritances. Where you purchased the piece does not affect our evaluation. We assess every item on its material quality, craftsmanship, condition, and current market value.

How quickly will I be paid?
+

For direct purchases, payment is typically processed the same day you accept the offer or within one to two business days depending on the method. We offer payment by check or wire transfer. For consignment sales, payment is issued promptly once the piece has sold and the transaction is finalized.
